Mortgage Administrator is responsible for providing a friendly, efficient and professional mortgage administration service to the Society’s members, customers and advisors, working colleagues and auditors.

  • Undertake administrative duties to ensure the efficient operation of the department and in accordance with the Society’s agreed procedures including rate change implementation, month end and year end processes.
  • To release payments in line with authorised mandate level complying with the agreed Society-Wide procedure.
  • To undertake tranche management monitoring activity.
  • To set up products in line with the Society’s procedures.
  • Communicating with customers, Solicitors and other agencies or professionals in relation to mortgages and insurance.
  • To support the production of Management Information as required including information for networks and mortgage clubs.
  • To undertake MLAR and PSD reporting for the Mortgage Department.
  • Comply with all legal responsibilities and codes of conduct to which the Society must comply with i.e. AML, MCOB, Mortgage Code, BSA and FCA etc.
  • To deal with customer dissatisfaction and complaints as required.
  • To be aware and escalate any concerns around source of funds, AML and suspected mortgage fraud.
  • To be aware of the Society’s Corporate Plan and to work towards helping the Society achieve this.
  • To look for opportunities for mortgage related tasks to be carried out efficiently and effectively. Escalating any new ideas for review and implementation.
  • To share good practice with other team members and be willing to train other staff members when required.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met and support other staff to help them to meet their deadlines.
  • Joint accountability for ensuring the Society values are embedded within the Society’s business and culture.
  • Attend training courses and undertake examinations as appropriate for this Job Description and as an employee of the Society to ensure job and personal skills are maintained to the satisfactory standard required by the Society
  • Carry out such other duties, which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and expectations of the position.
